Free NHS Health Check

If you are aged between 40 and 74 years old (and not diagnosed with certain pre-existing conditions – heart disease, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease or stroke) then you are entitled to have a free NHS Health Check every five years.

The NHS health check helps to identify potential risks early and will provide you with advice to help you live a healthier life.

The health check will be carried out by our Practice Nurse or Healthcare Assistant and will take about 20-30 minutes. You will have a blood test as well as a blood pressure measurement and height and weight and will be asked some questions about your lifestyle.

You’ll be taken through the results and given personalised advice on how to lower your risk and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
