Childhood Immunisations
Baby Immunisation Clinic
We offer baby immunisation clinic appointments with our Practice Nurses. Appointments should be booked through reception for this clinic.
Below is the Childhood immunisation schedule for the United Kingdom . It is of the utmost importance that children are kept up to date with the recommended vaccinations to protect them and other against disease. If your child has not received all of the recommended immunisations see below, please call the surgery to book an appointment with our Practice Nurse or Health Visitor.
At two months old:
- Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (meningitis, epiglottitis and ear infections) (Hib) (DTaP/IPV/Hib) – one injection
- Pneumococcal infection (pneumonia and meningitis) – pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) – one injection
At three months old:
- Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (DTaP/IPV/Hib) – one injection
- Meningitis C (meningococcal group C) (MenC) – one injection
At four months old:
- Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (DTaP/IPV/Hib) – one injection
- Meningitis C (meningococcal group C) (MenC) – one injection
- Pneumococcal infection – pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) – one injection
Between 12 and 13 months old:
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and meningitis C (Hib/MenC) – booster dose in one injection
- Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) (MMR) – one injection
- Pneumococcal infection – pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) – one injection
Three years four months to five years old (pre-school):
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) and polio (dTaP/IPV or DTaP/IPV) – one injection
- Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) (MMR) – one injection
13 to 18 years old:
- Diphtheria, tetanus and polio (Td/IPV) – one injection
17 to 25 years old:
- Meales, Mumps and Rubella Booster (MMR2) – one injection where two preschool doses not received
MMR Catch-up
We are currently taking part in the national campaign to increase MMR vaccinations for those children aged 10-16, who have not previously had the full course of MMR vaccinations. If your child requires an MMR please book an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses.
