We learned, as you all did, about the plan to bring boosters forward on Sunday night in the government announcement via the media.
Unfortunately, no plan was in place to deliver these boosters, no additional staff have been made available as of today, and most crucially we do not yet have any additional vaccine.
In the Primary Care Network we’re a part of, Hampton, we arranged with our two other practices to deliver an additional ~1500 vaccines this week and next, and we have these clinics ready to go. However, we have not had the additional vaccine we asked for delivered this morning, and we have not yet been given any guarantee of additional vaccine.
This means at present we are unable to invite any additional patients for vaccination.
We are aware that the government have stated, repeatedly, that vaccine supply is not an issue. At present this is not true. We are also mindful that the NBS booking website crashed yesterday, and that we have nationally run out of both lateral flow and PCR tests.
We will keep you updated if and when things change.
